PAR Springer Miller System Accounting and Data Plus - Features and Benefits
Data Plus is a fully-integrated, hospitality specific back office accounting system. It easily interfaces with your PAR Springer Miller System Accounting (SMS|Host System).
Integration of SMS|Host and Data Plus hospitality software eliminates discrepancies in data between the two
systems and expedites data entry. Data Plus will handle all of your PAR Springer Miller Back Office Accounting.
Since Date Plus is the PAR Springer Miller preferred accounting software, we have worked hard to ensure proper communication between the two systems, which leads to richer, more detailed reporting. Data Plus offers an interface for your General Ledger and POS systems.
There are two main interfaces between Data Plus and SMS|Host:
a Revenue Interface and a two-way batch interface with SMS|Retail POS.

- Batches may be reviewed prior to posting in Data Plus
- Data validated based on known SMS|Retail POS requirements
The Revenue Interface creates a batch of General Ledger Journal entries that can be
edited and posted to the Data Plus General Ledger module. The second interfaces Data
Plus with SMS|Retail POS, allowing both systems to have improved accuracy of inventory and
sales data. Information on retail items is maintained in Data Plus and passed to SMS|Retail
POS. Data Plus ensures that all information required by SMS|Retail POS is complete before
transmission.
Communicated Information
Your SMS|Host system communicates with Data Plus with a flat file by exporting data to an ASCII text file in an export directory. The interface supports G/L numbers up to 16 digits in length.
PAR Springer Miller and Data Plus - Compatibility
The interface is compatible with, and requires the following versions of PAR Springer -Miller
and Data’s products:
- SMS|Host v 15.0 and above
- DPHS version 6.8 and above
PAR Springer Miller and Data Plus - Hardware Requirements
No additional hardware is required for this interface. Scanners may be employed with
SMS|Retail POS to read either the item PLU/SKU or UPC Codes.
