Restricting Ability to Post

In Data Plus, you now have the ability to restrict a User’s ability to Post to certain periods. The restrictions are set for each individual user. You may want one user to have the ability to post 2 months prior and only 1 month into the future, and another user may only have access to post to the current period. It is a very useful tool and is very helpful in preventing users from posting to an unlikely period, such as 01 / 0002, which has happened in the past.

Setting up Post Restrictions

From the main DPHS menu, select Administration.

Once you have selected Administration, the following screen will appear, where you should select USERS.

Upon selecting Users, the following screen will appear. On the left side of the screen you will see a list of all users currently setup in your system. Highlight the user for which you would like to setup restrictions. In this example, I have selected “Hugh”.

On the right hand side, you will see two fields: Prior Months Post and Future Months Post. In these fields, you will enter the number of Previous/Future months to which the user has the ability to post.

Prior Months Post:

0 = User may not post to any Prior months, only to the current period.

1 = User may post to the current month and one month into the past.

2 = User may post to the current month and two months into the past.

3 = User may post to the current month and three months into the past.

ETC…

Future Months Post:

0 = User may not post to any Future months, only to the current period.

1 = User may post to the current month and one month into the future.

2 = User may post to the current month and two months into the future.

3 = User may post to the current month and three months into the future.

ETC…

Press the SAVE button, to save your changes, the EXIT to return to the main DPHS screen. The restrictions will become effective the next time the user logs in.

Please Note: These restrictions will affect in ALL modules. Also note that your current settings will remain, unless you specifically make changes to these fields.
